Finishes

At Ironwood, we are able to dress and finish your recycled timber in many different ways to help you achieve the particular look, feel and character of your project. The most popular timber finishes are wire brushed, grey faced wire brushed and rustic but the actual finish you wish to end up with is limited only by your imagination.

DRESSED ALL ROUND (DAR)

Put simply, DAR or dressed all round, means that each of the four sides of a board have been planed smooth and to a uniform thickness.

WIRE BRUSHED

Wire Brushing can give hardwood timbers a slightly swirled appearance and make it appear as if tiny lines are ingrained into the timbers.

WIRE BRUSHED GREY FACED

Our recycled Australian hardwood timbers can have a grey appearance due to their age which can be lightly wire brushed.

CHARRED FACE

We also have a new Charred Face finish with a unique architectural look. We are able to mill the timber to your exact specifications, with short turn around times.

RUSTIC

Our recycled hardwood timbers can also be finished in a very aged or rustic manner to carry off a certain look you are hoping to achieve with your project.

ROUGH SAWN

Our recycled hardwood timbers can also be supplied rough sawn. Think of this as a blank canvas that you are able to apply your own unique, individual finishes.
