Ironwood are able to mill, cut and supply stair treads and risers from recycled and reclaimed Australian hardwood timber. The treads can be supplied to match the colour and species of our recycled timber floors or as a stand alone feature. Standard tread sizes are usually up to 285mm wide with a thickness of 32 and 42mm.
We are able to access larger section sizes of naturally seasoned timbers which means we can supply stair treads in thicknesses of 50, 60 and 70mm or more.
Recycled timber stair treads usually keep some of the character from their previous use such as nail or bolt holes and surface checking. Reclaimed and new hardwood treads have a cleaner finish. Our treads are supplied raw and are usually oiled, sanded and finished to match the flooring on site.
Ironwood supply recycled and reclaimed Australian hardwood timbers of high durability that are suitable for external use. Species such as blackbutt, ironbark, spotted gum and tallowwood are available to match decking.
External stairs can have a sawn and wire brushed finish for a more rustic and slip resistant finish. Ironwood have also supplied grey and heavily weathered feature timbers such as railway sleepers and bridge decking for stairs providing a timeless aged look.
